Blog 2: Why did you choose to study this career?

 

Hello everyone!

My name is Evelyn, I am currently studying a career in secondary education in mathematics and physics and today I will tell you why I chose to study this career.

When I was a child, my dream was to be a veterinarian (puppy doctor) because I loved puppies and kittens. Also little Evelyn liked to play teacher to her stuffed animals. But it took several years to realize that pedagogy would be the path she would choose.

As time went by I realized that I liked mathematics, I enjoyed doing exercises and helping my classmates who were having a hard time. From there I had the idea of studying a career in the scientific field, although my options were varied to get to my current career, I had to go through a degree in science with a major in mathematics and then in fifth semester opt for a transfer to pedagogy, although my first career was only focused on mathematics, it was here in pedagogy where I took more affection for physics. Regarding my experience at the university in general has been quite good, throughout these years I have met wonderful people who have taught me a lot! I hope to finish my degree soon and in the future I hope to work in a rural school in the south of Chile.
